Overview of Z Purlin Roll Forming Machine

Z purlin roll forming machine, also known as galvanized steel Z shape purlin roll former, ‌is used for the production of Z type steel. ‌The Z shape purlin steel has a good property of bending resistance, good straightness and also it can be punched and cut online.

Roof Z-purlin joints 

1. Z purlins are generally galvanized and installed on the high side along the longitudinal slope.

2. Z Purlins are connected to steel beams with ordinary C-class bolts through purlin support plates, purlin support plates and steel beams are welded into a whole in the factory and coated with corresponding primer and intermediate paint.

3. Z Purlins are connected to large and small heads to distinguish, deepening and processing should be consistent with the site construction sequence, and the size of the head is connected.

4. Z purlins can be reduced by increasing the number of perforations to facilitate on-site installation (wall purlins are the same).

Difference between C Purlin and Z Purlin

1, From the purlin shape: Z-type steel purlin and C-type steel purlin angle is not the same, which C-type product is 90 degrees, and Z-type product is less than 90 degrees, roughly 60 to 75 degrees. Therefore, if the roof of a certain slope needs to use purlins, then it is necessary to consider the angle of the purlin with its bearing force, and the Z Purlin can make full use of its bending performance.

2, If the purlin wants to be made into continuous members, it’s better to use Z purlin compared to the C purlin. Because the overlap of Z steel purlin is more convenient.

3, From the bending point: in the roof slope is small then metal Z purlin bending section modulus is slightly larger than C purlin. When the slope of the roof is large then the modulus utilization rate of Z purlin symmetrical in the vertical direction is very large, so Z purlin is more suitable for the roof with large slope;

4, The mechanical properties of the two purlins are very different: the Z-section can be connected by reliable lap joint, it can be calculated according to the continuous beam. Therefore, expect the door and window openings and other special node processing needs, Z-section purlin should be preferred. The wall purlin and the house purlin with low slope can use C Purlin. Shelving the house purlin with large slope should consider Z-shaped steel purlins, so that the resultant force of the roof load passes through the section center of the Z-shaped purlin.
