Features and Application of C Purlin and H Beam
H-beam
It is developed from I-shaped steel section and the mechanical properties is better, the shape of which is same as letter "H". H-beam is divided into series of HW, HM, HN, HT and HU.
H beam is a new type of economic construction steel. H section shape is economical and reasonable, the mechanical property is good, section rolling of each point is more uniform, and the internal stress is small. Compared to ordinary I steel, the H beam is large, light weight, and saving metal. It is often used for support and foundation pile in large buildings with large bearing capacity and good section stability.
The advantages of H beam
(1) Wide flange and large lateral stiffness. Strong bending resistance.
(2) The two surfaces of the flange are parallel to each other to facilitate the connection, processing and installation.
(3) Compared with welded I-beam steel, it is low cost, high precision, small residual stress, no need for expensive welding materials and weld detection, saving about 30% of the production cost of steel structure.
(4) Under the same section load. Hot rolled H steel structure is 15%-20% lighter than traditional steel structure.
(5) Compared with concrete structure, hot-rolled H steel structure can increase the working area by 6%, reduce the dead weight by 20%-30%, and reduce the internal force of structural design.
(6) H-beam can be processed into T-beam, and the honeycomb beam can be combined to form various section forms, which greatly meet the requirements of engineering design and production.
H beam HW HM HN
The flange of H-shaped steel is equal section, HW, HM, HN, H is the general name of H-shaped steel. Among them the H-shaped steel is welded; HW HM HN is hot rolled and HW is the H-shaped steel with the same height and flange. It is mainly used for steel core column in reinforced concrete frame structure, also known as stiffening steel column.
The height and flange of HM beam is roughly around 1.33~ 1.75, and it is mainly used as steel frame column and frame beam in frame structure under dynamic load.
The height to flange of HN beam is greater than or equal to 2, when used as beams, the I-beams are equivalent to HN sections.
1. I-shaped steel, no matter ordinary type or light type, has a relatively high and narrow section size, so the inertia of the two main sleeves on the section has a large difference. Therefore, itis not suitable for axial compression members or bending members perpendicular to the web, which makes its application scope very limited.
2. H-beam is a kind of high-efficiency and economical profile. Due to the reasonable section shape, they can make the steel more efficient and improve the cutting capacity. The flange of H-beam is widened and the inner and outer surfaces are usually parallel, which makes it easy to connect with other members with high strength bolts. Its dimensions constitute a reasonable series, model complete, easy to design and choose.
3. The flange of H-beam is of the same thickness, with rolling section and a combination section composed of three welded plates. I steel rolling section, due to the poor production process, flange inside the edge has 1:10 slope. H beam rolling is different from ordinary I-beam, which rolling with only one set of horizontal rollers. Due to the wide flange and no slope (or very small slope), a set of vertical rollers must be added to roll at the same time. Therefore, the rolling process and equipment are more complicated than ordinary rolling mill. The maximum rolling H-beam height that can be produced in China is 800mm, exceeding the welded composite section only.
